Harborfields High School celebrated Autism Awareness Spirit Week in April, holding presentations for freshman students on building sensitivity and understanding autism as well as fundraising for the Nassau Suffolk Autism Society.

Activities included wearing different daily themes: tie-dye or brightly colored clothing to celebrate the beauty in the diverse spectrum of the human mind, favorite sports team apparel to show that people have a wide range of abilities and everyone can bring something the team, pajamas or comfy clothes to show awareness that people with autism often have a variety of sensory sensitivities, and blue clothing in support of blue being the universal color for autism awareness.
