Harborfields Seniors Constantos and Newman Earn Suffolk Zone Awards

Harborfields High School seniors Haralambos Constantatos and Jill Newman were recently named winners of this year’s Suffolk Zone Awards.  

The Suffolk Zone Chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance annually gives awards to one male and one female student in each Suffolk high school, selected for excellent achievement in physical education, outstanding character and leadership in schoolwide activities.

Constantatos, a skilled wrestler, is a member of the school’s National Honor Society, Business Honor Society and DECA club, and has earned National Honor roll recognition.

“Health and physical education have taught me responsibility and determination,” said Constantatos, who will attend Hofstra University this fall. “If you never give up, you will never lose.”

Newman, who plays for the Harborfields girls basketball team, is a member of the of the school’s National Honor Society, Business Honor Society, DECA club, Harborfields Alliance for Community Outreach and student government, and has earned National Honor roll recognition.

“Health and physical education have taught me leadership and communication skills that I’ll use for the rest of my life,” said Newman, who will attend Fairfield University this fall.
