The dedicated students of Harborfields were recognized at the Harborfields Central School District’s May 14 Board of Education meeting.

Numerous talented Harborfields High School artists were recognized: senior Emma Byrom for winning a Gold Key award for her piece "What Could've Been" and Honorable Mention for her "POPP!" piece, and junior Samantha Urmaza for being awarded an Honorable Mention from the Scholastic Art Awards, which provides students with regional and national recognition in art and writing along with potential scholarship opportunities; freshman Isabella DiPaola for earning second place for her piece “To Fly,” and sophomore Marlie Desir for participating in the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless’ Canvas for Compassion: Inspiring Hope Through Art contest; senior Adlena Scott and juniors Emma Barbo and Emily Xie for being selected for the 17th annual Go APE Advanced Placement Exhibition at the Art League of Long Island; and Xie and senior Liza McPherson for being chosen for the 28th annual Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher Museum curated art show.  

Additionally, Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School fifth grader Quinn Dunham and fourth graders Amalia Sepulveda Aponte, Maggie Devlin and Samuel Seaman were honored for earning a perfect score of 20/20 in the 2024 WordMasters Challenge vocabulary-based contest.
