Harborfields High School seniors Alison Ryan and Jacob Siegel were announced on Sept. 15 as Semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. The two were among only 16,000 Semifinalists named nationwide named, a group representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. This achievement was based on results of the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Ryan and Siegel will have the chance to continue in the Finalist level of the competition and earn a National Merit Scholarship.

“I was so honored when I found out I won,” Siegel said. “I was shocked, but I had worked really hard. I’m happy I won it with my co-winner Alison Ryan, who is also amazing.”

“I was really honored to get the award,” Ryan said. “I really wasn’t expecting it and it was great to see my effort pay off for the past two years.”
